RULES AND REGULATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE RESERVED AREA OF Santa Cruz Mission SHP:
The special event area is the Mission Patio facility and kitchen on the grounds of the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park. The setting is part of a sensitive historic site and requires that State Parks’ representative monitor the event. A pre-event walk-through is required.
The park is open to the public from 10:00am-4:00pm Thursday through Sunday; on these days, event set-up may begin no earlier than 2:00pm on the patio or 3:30pm on the unenclosed section of the grounds. Event activities may begin at 3:00pm on the patio area only. No music permitted until after the park has closed to the public.
The maximum number attending the event is limited to 30 people. Larger groups may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Small radios or non-amplified live music is permissible as long as the sound does not carry beyond the reserved area. Amplified music may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Offsite parking structures located downtown are a short walk from the lower (Mission St.) stairway entrance to the park. Event participants may use a maximum of 6 parking spots during open hours so that ½ of lot will be left open to park visitors (until park closes at 4:00pm). Double parking is not allowed. Yellow zones, red curbs and disabled parking spaces are strictly enforced.
Nails, tacks, staples or fasteners of any kind that penetrate wood and/or stucco are not permitted. Rice, birdseed, confetti, etc. are not allowed to be thrown. Butterflies, doves, balloons, and the like may not be released into the park. These items affect the plants and wildlife in the park.
The reserved area must be left in a clean condition (all garbage and food products deposited into trashcans or if cans fill up, bagged in plastic bags and left next to the trashcans). All decorations must be removed before vacating the area.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW RULES & REGULATIONS WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF SECURITY DEPOSIT
